The Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) will be holding a press conference with the French Human Right League (LDH) this Thursday December 17th 2015 from 11am (venue: LDH head office, 138 Marcadet street, 75018 Paris / Subway Station: Jules Joffrin)
This press conference will take place one month after the terrorist attacks of November 13th, and the implementation of the state of emergency. This state of emergency has been declared in a rush and has lead to a brutal repression through unjustified raids and house arrests. Citizens are being targeted arbitrarily and solely on the basis of their origins, religious beliefs or their political opinions. The policies implemented by the governement have not made France any safer and the government has so far failed to bring any tangible results in its so called war on terror.
The abuses of the state of emergency do not need to be proven, a call signed by 110 organisations with specific demands to the government will be presented.
The CCIF will make its one moth report on the consequences of the state of emergency with testimonies from victims and the latest statistics. One of the victims will be present to speak about the police raid against and his experience under the state of emergency.
Journalists are invited to attend this event. It will also be live streamed and relayed through the CCIF Facebook page and (@CCIF) through the #StateOfEmergency hashtag.
